Reese's Cups

Brian brought home some reese's cups for me when he was in Ireland and Hungary , because you can not find them over here in Singapore. You don't realize how much you miss something until you have it again. Oh, they taste so good!! They are my favorite chocolate treat to indulge in. I am not a big sweet person, but chocolate and peanut butter is to hard to resist. He is so good to me, he brought home two big bags of the bite size ones, so that I will not run out. When we go back home to the U.S. I will have to stock up on them. The sweets over here are not as sweet as back home, they must use less sugar because they taste different. I guess it is a good thing to not have as much sugar, but when you are used to the way things taste back home, it is just not the same. So, I guess what I am trying to say is that it was good to have my reese's cups!! Yummy!

Pilates

I have been doing pilates now for two weeks, and to me it really focuses on your abs. Every thing you do, you are supposed to shrink those abs down to your spine. Takes awhile to get used to how they want you to breath , you are supposed to breath through your ribs not your chest. What I mean is they want you not to raise your chest up and down to breath but through your side. I like the exercises that you use the resistance band, I can feel it in my arms especially. I have been doing yoga and pilates for a little over a month and a half now, hopefully I am starting to firm up a bit. The nice thing about yoga and pilates is that it is not very hard on your body, and you can do most all the poses. I still prefer my yoga over the pilates, but will alternate between the two. The yoga helps to focus, calm, breath, and the pilates helps with the toning.

Boy's and their hats!!

Grayden is starting early with wearing the baseball caps. He found one of his dad's old caps and put it on, so cute!! It was funny he knew exactly where to put it. Brian doesn't wear baseball caps anymore so we were amazed he knew that it went on his head.

What my day consists of ....

Just thought I would let you all know what my days have been like:

  • Stop screaming, I am coming(when he wakes up he starts crying now)
  • Please finish your breakfast
  • Don't turn the T.V. on
  • Please stay out of the cat litter box
  • Don't go in the kitchen drawer
  • Stay out of the closet
  • Don't pull the cat's tail
  • Get off the table!!
  • Get down now
  • Stop screaming
  • Tell me what's wrong(speak)
  • Be gentle to the kitty cat
Pretty much sums up what my days have been like lately with Grayden. He is really asserting his independence. He is into everything, but I have heard that is what little boys do. I love my little guy so much, but these days have been trying. Everyone says hang in there, we all went through it, and it does get better. I hope so.....

Terrible Twos

I think we have officially hit the terrible two's!! Grayden has been a stinker lately. He is not listening to anything I tell him. He continues to do things I tell him not to do over and over again. He is doing it purposely to, it is like he just doesn't care what I have to say anymore. His curiosity is to overwhelming for him, and he just can't stop himself. He won't stop going in this drawer in the kitchen that has all the kitchen accessories in it. I have a gate that blocks him from going in the kitchen, but that one time I forget to close it he is in there digging in the drawer, pulling everything out of it. Then when I tell him he can not play in that drawer he starts to scream and cry. You see he has his own drawer in the kitchen, but he does not want to play with that one. I think he just wants to be like Mommy, and he sees me using stuff out of that drawer when cooking. Just a phase he is going through.... right?
Grayden was not happy about leaving the orchid garden, so he decided to throw a temper tantrum while Daddy was walking with him.
Mommy had to take over and grab the little guy and tell him it was all right we would come back another time. He didn't like that answer, but that is what they say to do. You are supposed to hold them and tell them you understand their frustration, and that it is ok to feel upset.

Kitties

Just felt like posting some pictures of my kitty cats. We have four of them, but only three came over here to Singapore with us. Daisy is the one that stayed at our house back home, she is the orange and white one. Chase is the big boy, he is gray and white, and Cosmo is the orange tabby. Sheba is the last one and she is black and white with the black diamond nose. They range in age from six to thirteen, and all have very different personalities.

Super Glue

I wanted to say my piece about super glue. Sure, it is a great product but if you don't wear gloves it gets all over your fingers. There is no way to prevent this. I have had two things break in the past few days, and have had to use it twice, and both times got it all over my fingers. If you have never had super glue on your fingers, it is horrible. Your fingers feel numb, and the stuff takes forever to come off of them. Even with scouring your hands and fingers, it usually takes all day before it all comes off. There is no perfect way of using this stuff, after using it once the glue sticks to the lid and then that won't come off. It does work great though , I will give it that. Usually when I put it on something it holds up. But, if you choose to use it beware that you should use disposable gloves so as not to get it on your hands and fingers. I should have!!

Yoga

I have been doing Yoga now for three weeks, and I am really enjoying it. I am doing a dvd that I bought at one of the bookstores. The gym memberships here are very expensive, so before I committed to that, I wanted to make sure that I really enjoyed doing it. It is all about stretching, relaxing, breathing, improving circulation, and toning the body. So far I have seen a difference in my waist line, and it is slowly toning the rest of my body. After having a baby I was not as toned as I was before. I also bought a Pilates dvd to alternate with the Yoga one, I will report on how I like that in a while. I really suggest that if you have not tried Yoga, that you do, it is great. It really helps to relax me, since the main focus is on breathing. I usually do it while Grayden is taking his nap, while I have some peace and quiet. The cats are usually sitting on the couch watching me as I do my yoga, supervising me. I hope that with continuing to do it everyday I will improve and tone my body.

Gone Again

There he goes...... Brian is leaving again this week on another business trip. He will be leaving on Friday for Ireland and Hungary, and will be gone a week. He also has a layover in Zurich that is for a long time, so I think they are going to go sightseeing there as well. He has a conference in Ireland, and then he is off to the Hungary office to see what is going on over there. One of the guys that he used to work with in the U.S. is over in Hungary now, so it will be nice for Brian to see a familiar face. Brian has been traveling so much, he is home a week and then gone a week. I don't know how he does it. It has been taking a toll on him though, the past few trips when he has arrived home he has gotten sick. I hope this will be his last trip till we go to England and the U.S. in mid July. Grayden misses him so much when he leaves!! The last trip Brian took Grayden saw he was packing his suitcase, and he didn't want to go to sleep. He wanted to be up with his Daddy, he knew he was leaving and was upset. Then the whole week he is asking me "Where is Daddy?", it is heartbreaking. I have to tell him everyday that Daddy is working and will be home in a week. Then he looks at me, takes in the answer, and then goes to play with his trucks. I assume it will only get worse as he gets older, him missing his Daddy and all.

Created a Website

Just wanted to let you all know that I have created a website too!! I put a link to it from the blog, just go under About Me and you will see Webpages, and then click on the Dostie Website. It will bring you to the main page of our Website, and from there you can look to the right and see links to the other web pages on the site. You can click on any picture to enlarge it but you have to use your back arrow at the top of the page under file to get back on the page, if you try to close the image you will be shut out of the website. Brian said to me the other night, hey I created a website for you. I was not sure I was ready to do a blog and a website, since I am not that great on the computer, but I am doing it. I am learning more and more everyday about these computer programs. The Website I mainly created to put together pictures from trips we have taken, so that everyone can see them. It also has a page of my son, and soon there will be a page of my kitties. Check back from time to time to see if we have added any new pages or new photos. I am proud of myself for what I have been doing. This was a big stride for me!!
