All Better

Just wanted to let everyone know that Grayden is all better. He had a high fever between 103.8-104.6 for about six days. The fifth day he broke out in a rash on his face and chest. The doctor said if he still had a fever after five days or a rash appears to come back to the office. So, we went back and they said it was Roseola, a type of viral illness that occurs in children six months to three years old. Most children will get it by the time they are two or by the time they start pre-school. I had not really paid much attention to this illness because I had never heard of it. Basically it causes high fever for five to seven days followed by a rash that can last three to five days. I am just glad that Grayden is all better, it was a pretty scary week. We almost went to the emergency room a couple of times. You also have to worry about making sure they stay hydrated, which is hard since they don't have an appetite.

Sick Gray

Well, we are just sitting here, hoping that Grayden will get better. This is the third day that he has had a fever, that has been 103.8. We took him to the doctor yesterday where they ran blood work and cultures. Everything came back negative, so they think it is just a viral infection. We feel so bad for the little guy having such a high fever, he is just miserable. He has just been laying around for the most part, trying to get sleep when he is comfortable enough to. Trying to keep the fever down by giving him lukewarm bath, and alternating the motrin and tylenol. The doctor said it could last for five days, ugh.... I hope not. My Mom and Dad are coming down to Texas on Saturday and I hope that he will be better by then. They are so looking forward to seeing him again. Well, that is all for now keep you posted on Grayden.

Texas

Well, we are back in Texas, and in our house. Feels good to be home. We have already had some good Tex Mex food, and look forward to having a bunch more to get our fix. The weather is very hot, sunny, and has been in the hundreds all week. Pretty much what we are used to with living in Singapore. They say it has been like 39 days already of 100 degree temperatures down here this summer, and not much rain.

Grayden has been playing with our friends Terry and Kara's children Ava and Grace. We all went to the park today and Grayden was in the swing most of the time. It was a Mom's playgroup that Kara invited me to come to and everyone there was very nice and had at least two kids. They are going to get together again next Friday at another park, so hopefully Gray and I will get to go again. He has been having so much fun just running around everywhere and having the room to do it.

Our little Daisy cat is good. I think that she remembers us, she rubbed all over my face and has slept with us a couple of nights. She is not to happy about Gray being here though making tons of noise. If he goes near her she hisses at him and growls, and hides behind the bed most of the day. We are interrupting her routine of going outside everyday, she is to scared to go if Grayden is around.

That is it for now, talk to you all later.
